Located in REO Town, Lansing, Cheeney Media Concepts is Michigan’s premiere video production company. Not every job we do at Cheeney Media follows the same path, but every job we do gets the same attention. Sometimes a project needs help getting started, and sometimes clients come to us with a fully-formed plan, or just the barest glimmer of an idea. And sometimes we’re only needed to take on the editing or sweetening of a nearly completed media project. The process varies, but once you contact us we jump into action.
Typically you’ll begin by speaking with a producer. Sometimes you already have a relationship with one of our artists or technicians, in which case: that person is your producer! We can guide you through the entire process, or you can act as your own producer and we can follow your lead. We’ve worked with some of the toughest producers the media world has ever created (just ask us about legendary reporter David Brinkley’s or Barbara Walters’ producers).
Maybe your script is written or you need us to make it happen. We’ll guide you from script and storyboard to production, through post-production and to the successful completion and launch of your finished product. No project is complete until you know it is complete. Audio Recording
Whether on location or in our silent Whisper Booth, we’re experts at audio recording. No matter what the job calls for, we have the equipment and the expertise for the job. Whether the shoot requires lavaliers, boom mics, wireless microphones, or the comfort and silence of our Whisper Booth for voiceover work, we will get the perfect audio for the occasion.
Editing Video and Audio
Our audio and video editors have been doing non-linear editing for decades. From sound design to complex video editing featuring dozens of layers, there is no job we can’t perform to exquisite perfection. Color grading, rotoscoping, motion tracking, and compositing are areas of special expertise. No audio or video edit is too complex for our expert editors.
Live Stream Production
We have provided live-streaming support for live shows with groups as varied as MSU, the Michigan Nursing Association, the U.S. Department of Energy, school theatrical productions, and more. We’re more than comfortable supporting multiple cameras, live switching, and graphic/video roll-ins on the fly.
During times of distress such as the pandemic, our support enabled important meetings and live voting for leadership teams, as well as opportunities for continuing education for professional organizations.
Drone Videography

Our staff includes a talented, experienced, licensed remote pilot, and we are FAA Part 107 certified for small unmanned aircraft systems. Whether you require aerial photography or video for a creative project, footage for real estate or roof/solar inspections, aerial coverage of your event, or simply recreational footage, we can get it all. We’re even certified for night flying! We can help you plan out your flight and navigate all of the new FAA regulations for flying safely in all types of conditions. Event Photography
No matter what it takes, no matter where we have to go, we will get the shot. Every time.
We are frequently called upon to provide event still photography, even for those events during which we are providing video support. Years of experience in still photography have given us a strong eye and quick response, allowing us to capture live events with for publicity or promotional purposes in print, on websites or on social media.

Graphics/Animation/Print Design
As graduates of university telecommunications and fine arts departments, our artists have decades of experience with layout and design. We’ve provided our expertise for logo design, major print jobs, artwork featured on t-shirts and sweatshirts, poster design, and animated cartoons.
Woldumar, a Michigan nature center, hired Cheeney Media to create t-shirt designs, including the creation of an all new cartoon character for their Muskrat Mile race for young participants.
Cheeney Media was further commissioned to design three permanent informational signs to be installed next to historic buildings on their properties.
Duplication
If your project requires duplication in the dozens or even thousands, we can provide you with full color, print-to-center CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays. We’re also experienced with cloud hosting and flash media solutions.
